Overview

DIP is a pipe made of ductile cast iron. As the name suggests it is cast iron but with relatively higher strength, good elongation and toughness. These properties come from the nature of the microstructure, consisting of spheroidal graphite (as compared to flakes in grey iron) within the ironmaking it an excellent candidate for applications such as water and sewage transportation.

The demand for DIP comes from 3 main factors; growth in the construction market, replacement and repair of current water pipelines and growth in other sectors like irrigation and infrastructure. DIP can be used in a wide range of applications like water supply, sewer systems, drainage and irrigation pipelines, pipelines for fire-extinguisher systems and oil and gas production.

Advantages of Ductile Iron Pipes: high tensile strength, corrosion resistant, flexible and leak resistant, diverse coating possibilities and excellent workability.
