The Azerbaijani capital Baku will host the fifth session of the joint Saudi-Azerbaijani committee on Monday, which will be chaired by the Governor of the General Authority for Investment, Engr. Ibrahim bin Abdul Rahman Al-Omar, and the Azerbaijani Minister of Finance, Mr.Samir Sharifov. The session will be attended by a number of key representatives of the public and private sectors from both countries.
The Deputy Governor of the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority for Development of the Investment Environment, Dr. Ayedh Al-Otaibi, said that the committee, representing 17 governmental entities, will discuss a range of topics proposed by the representatives of Azerbaijan’s government and business community. The discussion will include topics such as investment, economy, trade and skills transfer.
Al-Otaibi highlighted that hosting this forum, marking the fifth session of the joint committee, is part of both countries’ framework to develop inter-regional investments. To achieve this, he explained, it is necessary to gain a deeper understanding of the investment opportunities in both countries.
The fifth session of the joint Saudi-Azerbaijani committee is a continuation of a series of meetings and mutual visits between officials from both countries during the past several years, which is a clear signal of the growth and development of economic, investment, cultural and technical cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan.
